These beautiful siblings, Meringue and Coconut Cream, must be adopted together. They were abandoned months ago when their owner moved and living on the streets, they became wary of people. We established a feeding station and began to try to win their trust. When we did catch a glimpse of them, they were always together. Walking side by side, sitting in the sun grooming each other and crying if one lost sight of the other. We just could not get our hands on them, so a plan was developed to trap them. It was going to be difficult as we did not want to catch one without the other. We were afraid that if we only caught one the other would wander a distance looking for its sibling and we would lose track of it. It took several volunteers working for hours late one night. One was caught and the tension grew. The other was there but would not go in the trap. We finally placed the one we had in a carrier, set the trap in front of it and voila we had them both.

Meringue is the shyer of the two; we could pet her outside, but she still is regaining her trust in humans. Her brother Coconut Cream, her protector, loves people once again. He enjoys pets and purrs and marches his feet when talked to. This extraordinary pair will be a beautiful addition to just the right home. An adult, dog-free home would be their best fit.
